Harvey H. Pomplun

Harvey H. Pomplun, 76, of Milton died Saturday, August 13, 2011 at Mercy Hospital & Trauma Center, Janesville. Harvey was born on March 15, 1935 in Wautoma, WI, the son of Edward and Adeline (Cannon) Pomplun. He was a U. S. Air Force veteran having served during the Korean War era. He married Sally (Buerger) Pomplun on August 25, 2001. Harvey was formerly employed by General Motors for many years prior to retiring. He was a member of U.A.W. Local # 95. Harvey enjoyed hunting and was known as a joker, as well as imitating a train whistle.

Surviving are his wife, Sally, 5 sons, Russell (Barb) of Beloit, Ken (Darlene) of Glen Flora, WI, Emil (Michelle) of Clearwater, FL, Wayne (Karrie) of Brodhead, Jeff ( Jeanie) of Janesville, 1 daughter, Jenny (Gary) Kellay of Hastings, MI, 16 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, 2 sisters, Edith Teubert of Beloit and Alice Lynn of Georgia. He was preceded in death by his parents, 5 brothers, Lester who died while serving in World War II, Irvin, David, Raymond, Elmer, 3 sisters, Doris Bradley, Bernadine McCullum, Evelyn Zule, a grandchild, Angel and a great-grandchild, Shaylee.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, August 17, 2011 at First Lutheran Church, 612 N. Randall Ave.,, Janesville with Rev James Melvin officiating. Military rites will be conducted by Kienow-Hilt V.F.W. Post # 1621. Visitation will be at the church Wednesday from Noon until the time of services.
